NAME
The Herons Glen Chorus is the Name given to an association of residents which operates under the jurisdiction of the Herons Glen Recreation District. As a association and as individual members, the Chorus abides by the Rules and Regulations of the governmental protections enjoyed by the District. |
PURPOSE
The Herons Glen Chorus has been formed to be an association of residents who enjoy performing in an organized musical group. Under the guidance of a Director, members practice and develop their abilities to contribute to the combined performance of the Chorus. |

MEMBERSHIP
Prospective members are required to be residents of Herons Glen and will be assessed by the Director as to best voice and volume of voice. Based on limitations and capacity of the Herons Glen Ballroom stage, the number of those taking part in the concerts may be restricted. |

STRUCTURE
The Chorus is governed by a Board of Directors elected by majority vote of each voice section, one member at large elected by the total chorus, the Chorus Director(s) and the Accompanist(s). The elected Directors, (excluding the Chorus Director(s) and Accompanist(s)) will select the offices of president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary. The purpose of the elected Directors is to represent and raise concerns of their voice section and to continually look for needed replacements of the Director and Accompanist. The elected Directors will have a renewable term of 2 years with the exception of the 2024 year, which will be one year. Elections of the ensuing year will occur by the end of January. The Board of Directors will meet at the call of the Choral director before January 1 and every 3 weeks after January 1, following the Chorus Rehearsal. |
DUTIES OF OFFICERS
The President acts as chairperson of the Board. That person ensures there are 3 authorized bank account signatories, the President, the Vice President and the Treasurer. The President will report to the Chorus Rehearsal following a Board meeting. The President initiates the election of Directors for the ensuing two year term. The Vice President acts as President when the President is absent. The Treasurer oversees financial activities, maintains adequate and correct accounts of receipts and expenditures and reports to the Chorus when called upon. The Secretary keeps minutes of the Board meetings and completes records of Chorus operations. Minutes of Board meetings are to be sent out to Board members within 2 days of the meeting. A disbandment of the Chorus must be approved by the majority of all Chorus members. |
